Clients were flown in from overseas and interstate to join the festivities, hosted by Northline's Executive Chairman, David Harford.

Northline - celebrates 25 years servicing the Territory Advertorial.

Adelaide based company Northline is celebrating 25 years of servicing the Australian community.

This Australian owned and fiercely independent business commenced its freight operations by doing "the hard bit first" namely Australia's remote areas.

Running regular freight services from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then on to Darwin and everything in between.

Chief Operating Officer Phillip Taylor says - "This freight lane remains at the heart of Northline's operations. We have unfailingly serviced the people and businesses along this route and with ongoing investment by Northline, have shown our future commitment to the region".

Starting with a small group of people you could count on one hand Northline now employs over 400 people nationally.

There have been many challenges along this route over the years ranging from floods, dust storms and the inevitable roaming livestock thru to the multinational competitors buying out whoever they can and reducing competition.

Taylor says "Northline take all these challenges in their stride. We have a great group of people working for us and rely on our local teams to provide the solutions. It takes a local to understand and fix the unique problems that can arise".

Northline have extended its scope of service well beyond freight and now includes Contract Logistics (warehousing), International Freight Forwarding and Project Management as key offerings.

Taylor says " Our customers have become very sophisticated over the years and want a partner that can design a logistics solution that is end to end. Based on these requests we can work with Australian business who require for example, a pick up of goods overseas then manage the whole delivery and warehousing chain through to delivery to the final customer. This is unique and allows Northline to drive volume through our core freight route Adelaide - Alice - Darwin and return in to or out of Australia utilising Darwin port".

Northline are very grateful to their customers and suppliers for their support, some of whom have been with them from the start.

To celebrate this 25 year milestone, on Saturday, 26 July, Northline gathered many of their customers from around Australia, suppliers and staff for a day at Fannie Bay Race Course.

With a view to giving back to the community Northline held a series of fundraising events through raffles and auctions raising in excess of $10,000 for their special charity - Camp Quality.

Taylor says "All of Northline's staff are proud of this 25 year achievement however, such an achievement can only be reached with the support of our customers and suppliers. They are special to us and it is a pleasure through celebrations like these, to build our relationship with them beyond the normal daily business, we do like to get to know the people we rely on".
