Northline has established its first company operated transport and logistics facility in Mackay. The Mackay facility adds to Northline’s strong Queensland presence with other facilities in Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville.
Located in Paget, and close to the Bruce Highway, the new facility includes high-clearance warehouse and workshop capability, along with semi-trailer and B-double access.
Northline’s investment in Mackay is the result of continuous growth in the region which has included contracts to service four Peabody Energy Mines in the region – Coppabella, Millennium, Moorvale and North Goonyella.
Northline Chief Executive Craige Whitton said the new Mackay facility gives Northline a strategic network of dedicated Queensland transport and logistics facilities from Brisbane up to Cairns.
“Each facility services the entire State including many hard to reach remote and regional areas and it is also critical for us in servicing other parts of Australia including the Northern Territory, which we service from Far North Queensland,” said Mr Whitton.
“The investments we’re making are all about improving services and efficiencies, and cutting transit times for our customers. This has resulted in significant recent reductions in transit times from Mackay to both Cairns and Brisbane.”
The Northline Mackay transport and logistics facility is fully operational and is located at 42 Commercial Avenue, Paget, QLD 4740.
