Northline recently lent its support to regional junior footy in the Northern Territory as a sponsor and supporter of the inaugural Back to School Cup which was run in conjunction with the Speccy Dreaming Carnival.
The Back to School Cup, a school holiday footy carnival for kids living in remote parts of the NT, was held at Wadeye (Port Keats) from the 21st to 24th July and attracted more than 125 kids from local communities to play, along with a further 40 spectators.
Northline provided support by donating footy jumpers for the carnival, and then rolled up their sleeves to help out on the day with the BBQ, cooking more than 250 sausages, and handing out drinks.
Four of the Northline NT team drove 10 hours from Darwin to Wadeye to lend a hand and spent a night at the Carnival camp.
The Speccy Dreaming Carnival was a big success with the footy carnival bringing kids together from remote communities, where they often face confronting social hardships.
Youth Development and Schools Manager, Bill Thomlinson said Northline made a valuable contribution and we look forward to building on their community contribution through this great initiative.
“It was an unprecedented success and the support of the Northline team was very much appreciated by AFL NT and the Wadye community, said Bill.
