Read moreNorthline has enhanced its reputation for finding the best solutions for its customers, by hand-delivering a vital mechanical part needed to maintain operations for a remote mine operator.
After receiving a customer call at 2pm (ACST), Northline was charged with getting the part from Adelaide to Mackay as quickly as possible, by any means possible.
After exploring a range of freight options, Northline employee Luke Yates jumped into action, booking himself on a 4.20pm flight to Queensland and picking up the ‘mission-critical’ part on the way to the airport.
Luke reported on his progress throughout the journey, allowing Northline to keep the customer informed until his arrival in Mackay at 10pm.
A courier was arranged to meet Luke at the airport with the part dispatched immediately to site and arriving at midnight – just 10 hours after Northline received the call and 12 hours faster than more conventional freight options.
Using an Onboard Carrier is rare, but it’s another example of our people’s willingness to go the extra mile (or in this case 1,600 miles) to deliver for our customers.
