A message from Craige Whitton, Chief Executive Officer

2019 has been another busy year at Northline.

This year, we’ve continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of our customers and help them to grow their businesses within an environment of ever increasing commercial pressures.

To better serve our customers, we’ve been busy developing and implementing a range of initiatives and investments. These have included:

    Brand Refresh

We updated our branding including the adoption of a new tagline – Australia’s Global Logistics People – to better reflect being proudly Australian but with a global outlook and services, underpinned by recognising the value of relationships and continuing to provide a personalised service to our customers.

    Online Customer Portal

Development of a new online system for customers to create freight movements, pick up requests, warehouse order processing and track and trace their freight across our International, National and Warehousing services. The new system ‘Connect will be launched to customers in 2020. It creates a single system with the ability to establish alerts for international freight and integration into the Northline App for domestic freight. Following the launch, we will also be developing an Application Programming Interface (API) integration for customers to interface and retrieve their consignment data such as track and trace milestones and freight costs directly from our Freight Management System to better serve their customers.

    Expansion of International Freight Management

During the year, we expanded our International Freight Management capability to service more than 100 countries. We also expanded our International team to ensure we’re able to offer greater specialist advice and services. The expansion will be further supported by next year’s international track and trace launch.

    Growth of Project Logistics

We’re now able to manage rapidly changing needs in Project Logistics by undertaking more complex projects. Our experienced team works closely with our customers from initial feasibility, project scoping and investigation, through to project delivery and completion. This year, it led us to undertake and complete work on an end-to-end logistics contract for one of Australia’s biggest solar farms – the $277 million 255MW Sunraysia Solar PV project.

New $30 Million Perth Depot Opening

Further investment in our national network of state-of-the-art depots with the official opening of a new $30 million Perth depot in April. More than $120 million has now been invested over the past six years to establish a state-of-the-art domestic multi-modal transport and national warehousing network for Northline.

Next year, we will continue our investment in our services and customers as well as growing our valued relationships – both in Australia and overseas.

On behalf of Northline, thank you for your support throughout the year and we wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas from our Customer Service Team
