Read moreWe recently spoke with one of our current graduates, Kyton Rayner, who shared his motivations for joining Northline and what drew him to the Transport and Logistics industry. With an interest in gaining hands-on experience and building a strong understanding of how a business operates end-to-end, Kyton was attracted to Northline’s reputation and structured Graduate Program.
I applied for Northline’s Graduate Program because Northline is a South Australian business with a strong reputation in the Transport and Logistics industry. I was drawn to the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing an understanding of the business from end to end. I value learning in a practical environment and Northline’s Program offers the structure and exposure needed to build a solid foundation in Logistics.
What attracted you to the Transport and Logistics industry?
I was attracted to the Transport and Logistics industry because it plays a vital role in connecting businesses. I enjoy the fast-paced, problem-solving nature of the industry where no two days are the same. To be part of a system that ensures goods are delivered efficiently and reliably really appealed to me.
What do you hope to achieve during your time on the Program?
During the Graduate Program, I hope to develop a strong understanding of all aspects of the business whilst building strong relationships. I aim to strengthen both my technical knowledge and soft skills, such as communication and teamwork, to become a good contributor to the organisation.
What departments are you most looking forward to working in?
I am most looking forward to working in the Operations and Sales departments. I’m particularly interested in understanding how day-to-day logistics operations are managed as well as how customer relationships are developed and maintained. Gaining these experiences will give me a well-rounded perspective on how the business operates and succeeds.
What has been your favourite moment at Northline so far?
My favourite moment so far has been gaining hands-on experience in the Adelaide depot and working in a fast-paced environment. This experience allowed me to see how operations run in real time and gave me a greater appreciation for the teamwork and efficiency required to keep operations moving smoothly.
