Marcus Marrapodi discusses his passion for learning how the supply chain drives the world

Drawn to Northline for its strong industry reputation and commitment to professional development, Marcus Marrapodi has embraced the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Northline’s Graduate Program.

With a particular interest in International Freight Management and Sales, Marcus is eager to contribute to the business while building a solid foundation in the transport and logistics industry.

Marcus discusses his passion for logistics and learning how supply chains drive the world around us.

Why did you apply for Northline’s Graduate Program?

I applied for Northline’s Graduate Program because I was looking for a business that not only has a strong reputation in the logistics industry but also invests in the growth and development of its graduates. The program offers real-life exposure, hands-on experience and the opportunity to work across multiple departments, which is exactly what I was looking for to kickstart my career in logistics and supply chain management.

What attracted you to the Transport and Logistics industry?

I’ve always been fascinated by the way goods move from one point to another and how the supply chain underpins almost every aspect of daily life. The transport and logistics industry plays a critical role in the economy. In particular, I was drawn to the problem-solving, coordination and innovation involved in making complex supply chains work seamlessly.

What do you hope to achieve during your time on the Program?

During my time in the Graduate Program, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of Northline’s operations and the wider logistics network. I want to develop practical skills, build strong professional relationships and identify the area of the business where I can contribute most effectively in the long term. Ultimately, I want to emerge from the Program as a confident and capable professional, ready to take on more responsibility.

What departments are you most looking forward to working in?

I’m particularly excited to work in International Freight Management and Sales.

What has been your favourite moment at Northline so far?

My favourite moment so far has been seeing how the different teams collaborate to solve unexpected challenges. One instance that stands out was during a high-pressure period where everyone, from warehouse employees to managers, worked together to meet tight deadlines during a large project. It was a great example of teamwork and showed me the strong culture and values Northline promotes.
