Read moreNorthline lent its services to transport eye and face hygiene packs to kids in the Northern Territory in a bid to end Trachoma, a debilitating eye disease that is entirely preventable through good hygiene.
As part of an Australian-wide initiative EndTrachoma, Northline transported 232 hygiene packs. The packs were donated by the Rotary Club of Mordialloc, Victoria to students at a school in Lajamanu, Northern Territory. Lajamanu is a small town located around 557 kilometres from Katherine and approximately 890 kilometres from Darwin.
The packs were sewn by Rotary Club of Mordialloc volunteers and consisted of toiletries, towels, deodorant and a water bottle. These kits will enable the students to care for their eyes and faces to reduce the risk of Trachoma.
