Read moreNorthline’s partnership with St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) continues to grow with Northline lending a hand to transport clothing to the Northern Territory and CEO Craige Whitton raising more than $24,000 for the charity at their annual CEO Sleepout.
Northline helped Vinnies NT and SA by transporting warm clothing and blankets to remote indigenous communities in Daly River and Santa Teresa, Northern Territory.
Both communities experience cold weather in the winter and warm clothing and blankets are often hard to come by.
In June, Craige also took part in his first Vinnies CEO Sleepout with participants experiencing some of the worst weather conditions for many years.
Craige and his fellow CEOs battled the elements and together raised $934,453, while nationally more than $9.3 million was raised to support people experiencing homelessness.
Funds raised will be used for a variety of Vinnies programs including meal services, refugee and youth services and emergency financial relief.
“The minor sacrifice I made for one night is nothing compared to what those that sleep rough, sleep in cars or need crisis accommodation are going through,” said Craige.
“I sincerely appreciate the fundraising support. This experience was unique and only a small insight into the lives of homeless Australians and I appreciated the opportunity to help make a difference.”
