CEO Craige Whitton shares business update

With 2024 in full swing and the Australian economy in a stage of rebalancing, we as a business remain vigilant and proactive, finding the most efficient ways to continue servicing and delighting our customers.

The recent weather event in WA, approximately 900 kilometres east of Perth, which has affected rail services between East to West should look to ease over the coming week. I hope we have been able to find a solution for you and your customers to get their freight delivered.

As we enter our 41st year in operation, our people remain at the core of who we are and what we do. This year we will recognise 26 employees who will reach a service milestone of 10 years or more with Northline. That’s a combined total of 435 years of service – an incredible testament to the culture and environment we have built across the country.

This month, we welcomed newcomers, David Loechel as Head of Finance and Jorg Both as Head of Business Systems. David assumes responsibility for all Finance, Payables and Receivables functions while, Jorg will oversee the business’s IT Network and Infrastructure, as well as System Applications and Integration.

We also recruited two Graduates, who commenced Northline’s 2024 Graduate Program at the start of the year. Congratulations to Sophie Zaini (Darwin) and Mael Pigault (Adelaide) who will work in tailored rotations across key business areas for the next 18 months. Both Sophie and Mael are currently undergoing their Operational rotation at their local depot.

The success of the program has proven time and again, illustrated most recently by last year’s Graduates Tristan Wait and Tash Siddiquee taking permanent positions at Northline within Operations. Tristan as National HSEQ and Compliance Officer and Tash as Operations Support Officer.
